How to Add a New Author on WordPress

WordPress has core roles and one of them is called “Author” so you can use these roles to properly attribute content on your WordPress website.

You can add a new author by clicking the Add New button beside the Users heading.

In the Add New User page, fill up the necessary details (e.g. Username, Email, First Name, Last Name) and select a role for this new user.

The role that you select should have contributor capabilities on your website (e.g. Contributor, Author, Editor, Administrator). Click the Add New User button once you’re done.

You should see the new author in the Users page of the WordPress dashboard.
