How to Disable the Block Editor

Because the Block Editor has become the default editor of WordPress since the launch of WordPress 5.0, here’s how to disable the Block Editor.

You can still use the Classic Editor by installing the Classic Editor plugin. Navigate to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New. The Classic Editor is usually the first option in the plugin repository. If you can not find it, you can search for it in the search bar.

Once it is activated, you will only be given the choice to edit your pages and posts using the Classic Editor by default. Go to Settings > Writing, and locate the Default editors for all users option. Make sure the selection is set to Classic editor. Click the Save Changes button.
